Submit a Session Proposal

Cultural organizations gather people together and bring new relevance to important stories, past and present. While the origins of membership programs are intrinsically rooted in exclusivity we are working toward inclusivity to nurture deeper understanding and empathy. We strive to build welcoming membership programs that bridge the gap between our organizations and the communities we aspire to serve.

Now in its 42nd year, the American Museum Membership Conference offers an exceptional opportunity for membership professionals to gather October 23-26, 2023 in Houston to explore (re)building communities in the places our organizations call home.

Houston has become a global city with a thriving cultural landscape. With a population from varied ethnic and religious backgrounds and a growing international community, Houston has been described as one of the most racially and ethnically diverse major cities in the U.S.

Join a network of colleagues in Houston to discuss how we are building and rebuilding communities through our membership programs to foster social connections, a sense of belonging, and deliver on vital engagement and financial goals. By learning from each other we can help our unique organizations remain relevant for the future.

Use the form below to submit your proposal. We have provided a worksheet here to help you craft your proposal. Museum professionals who are selected to present will be offered a 20% discount on registration fee.
